I've spent the last few months building an AI tutor, and the biggest thing I learned isn't about AI — it's about why human tutoring fails for most people.

It's not the tutor's fault. It's the scheduling. You get stuck on a problem at 11pm the night before a test, and your tutor is asleep. By the time your next session rolls around, you've either figured it out alone or given up on the concept entirely. The help arrives too late to matter.
