Why most indie devs don't need Sentry

I've shipped 12 projects in the last two years. Every time, I'd set up Sentry, get overwhelmed by the dashboard, ignore 90% of the alerts, and end up debugging with console.log anyway.

The problem isn't error tracking — it's that most tools are built for 50-person engineering teams, not solo devs pushing code at 2am.

Here's what actually matters when you're shipping alone:

1. Stack traces that make sense instantly. No digging through 15 tabs. One glance, you know what broke and where.

2. Deploy-aware alerts. "This error started after your 4:30pm deploy" is 10x more useful than "Error count increased."

3. Zero config overhead. If setup takes more than 5 minutes, it's not happening. We all know this.

4. A price that doesn't punish you for having users. Event-based pricing is a tax on growth. Flat rate or nothing.

That's exactly what I built with Bugline. Lightweight error tracking that respects your time and your wallet.

If you're an indie dev tired of enterprise tools pretending to care about you — come check it out.
