I've built websites for dozens of small businesses. Here are the patterns I see over and over that silently kill conversions:

1. No clear call-to-action above the fold. Your visitor lands on your page and has no idea what to do next. Fix: one button, one action, visible immediately.

2. Mobile looks broken. Over 60% of your traffic is on phones. If your site doesn't look clean on mobile, you're losing more than half your potential customers.

3. Loading speed is a dealbreaker. If your site takes more than 3 seconds to load, ~40% of visitors bounce. Compress images, cut unnecessary plugins, use a proper host.

4. No social proof anywhere. Reviews, testimonials, client logos — people need to see that others trust you before they'll trust you.

5. Trying to say everything at once. Your homepage isn't your autobiography. Pick your strongest offer and lead with it.
