The 3 things your PT isn't telling you (because they'd lose a client)
Most personal trainers are great people. But the business model has a problem: the longer you need them, the more they get paid.
Here are 3 things that would save most beginners 6+ months of spinning their wheels:
1. Progressive overload is the only thing that matters for muscle growth. Not supersets, not drop sets, not "muscle confusion." Just lift slightly more weight or do more reps over time. That's it.
2. You don't need a meal plan — you need to understand calories and protein. Hit 0.8-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, eat in a slight surplus to build or deficit to cut. Done.
3. Consistency beats perfection every single time. A mediocre program you follow for 12 months will destroy a perfect program you quit after 3 weeks.
I built BuiltOnBasics because I was tired of watching people overpay for information that should be free — or at least affordable. The guide is $19.99 and covers everything a PT would teach you in months of sessions.
No fluff. No upsells. Just the basics that actually work.
