Starting is the hardest part. Not finishing. Starting.

Your brain sees the whole task at once — not the first step. A giant task feels like a wall, not a staircase. That's why you freeze. It's not laziness.

The trick is never "do the task." The trick is "do 5 minutes of the task."

Set a timer. Do it badly. When it rings, you're allowed to stop. You almost never stop, because starting was the wall and you're already over it.

If 5 minutes still feels impossible: 2 minutes. One physical motion. Just looking at the thing. There is no version of this that's too small to count.

Tiny is not failure. Tiny is the method.

I wrote a short playbook on this because I needed it between cases. Use the 5-minute version on whatever you've been staring at today.
