5 Shopify design mistakes costing you conversions

I've redesigned 50+ Shopify stores in the last two years. Same mistakes come up every time. Here's what's actually killing your conversion rate:

1. Your hero image says nothing. If someone lands on your homepage and can't tell what you sell within 3 seconds, you've lost them. Stop using abstract lifestyle photos as your hero. Show the product. Show the value.

2. Too many fonts, too many colors. I get it, you want to stand out. But when your store uses 4 different typefaces and a rainbow palette, it screams "I built this at 2am." Two fonts max. One accent color. That's it.

3. Mobile nav is an afterthought. 70%+ of your traffic is mobile. If your menu takes 3 taps to find a product category, you're bleeding money. Simplify your navigation to 4-5 top-level items.

4. Product pages with no social proof. No reviews, no UGC, no trust badges. You're asking people to hand over their credit card to a stranger. Put reviews above the fold. Add real customer photos.

5. Checkout has too much friction. Every extra field, every unnecessary step, every surprise fee at checkout is a reason to abandon. Strip it down to the essentials.

If any of these hit home, that's exactly what we fix at CartCraft. We redesign Shopify stores for brands doing $10K-$100K/mo who are ready to stop leaving money on the table.
