Why 'just eat healthier' doesn't fix chronic bloating
Most people with IBS or chronic bloating have already tried the obvious stuff — more fiber, less sugar, more water. And it doesn't work, because the advice is generic and the problem usually isn't.
In my experience coaching people through this, there are 3 recurring root causes hiding behind "just eat clean":
Unidentified trigger foods that look healthy. Onions, garlic, certain fruits, and even "healthy" whole grains are common FODMAP triggers. You can eat perfectly clean and still bloat.
Meal timing and stress, not just meal content. Eating on a rushed schedule under stress changes digestion regardless of what's on the plate.
Overcorrection from past restriction. A lot of people have already cut so many foods trying to "fix" things that their gut microbiome diversity has actually gotten worse.
The fix isn't another 30-day reset. It's a structured elimination + reintroduction process, tracked properly, with someone reviewing the pattern with you — because most people can't see their own patterns from inside the discomfort.
