The 60-second rule that fixed my team's meetings
Quick tactic that's saved my team hours every week: before any meeting starts, the organizer has 60 seconds to state the ONE decision or outcome the meeting needs to produce.
If they can't say it in 60 seconds, the meeting doesn't happen — it becomes an async message instead.
Why it works: it forces whoever called the meeting to actually think about whether a live meeting is even necessary. Most of the time the answer is no, and you just saved everyone 30 minutes.
We built an entire course around small rules like this — turns out most 'meeting problems' are really 'no purpose' problems in disguise.
Curious what rules other people here use to keep meetings short.
