How to spot botted clips (before you pay for them)
If you run a clipping agency, you've probably dealt with this: a clipper sends you a screenshot showing 500K views, but the creator's channel barely grew.
Here are 3 red flags that a clip's views are botted:
1. View-to-engagement ratio is off
Real viral clips get comments, shares, and follows. If a clip has 200K views but 12 comments and 0 shares — something's wrong. Organic content on TikTok/Reels/Shorts usually converts at 1-3% engagement minimum.
2. Views spike and flatline
Organic clips have a curve — they build momentum, peak, then taper. Botted clips often spike instantly to a round number (100K, 500K) and then stop dead. Check the analytics timeline, not just the total.
3. The follower growth doesn't match
This is the ultimate test. If a clipper claims they got you 1M views last month but your client gained 200 followers — the math doesn't add up. Real views drive real growth.
