Why most creators lose views after 90 days (and how to fix it)

Ran a lot of clipping accounts over the past year and noticed the same pattern almost every time: accounts pop off in month 1-2, then views cliff hard around day 90.

It's almost never the algorithm. It's almost always one of these three:

1. The hook well runs dry. Early clips work because you're pulling from a backlog of a creator's best moments. Once that's exhausted, editors start clipping mid-tier content and calling it a highlight.

2. Posting cadence gets inconsistent. Platforms reward accounts that post like clockwork. Miss a few days and the algorithm treats you like a new account again.

3. Zero format testing. Same caption style, same cut style, same length, every single clip. No experimentation = no compounding growth.

The fix is boring: build a real content pipeline (not a one-off editor), rotate hook formats weekly, and never post on gut feel — post on a schedule. That's basically the whole game.

Happy to answer questions if anyone's running clip accounts themselves.
