The 3 mistakes killing your affiliate earnings (and what to do instead)
Most people who try affiliate marketing quit within 3 months. Not because it doesn't work — because they're doing it wrong.
After testing hundreds of affiliate programs, here's what I've learned:
Mistake #1: Promoting low-commission products
If you're earning 5-10% on a $20 product, you need insane volume to make real money. The math doesn't work. Focus on products with 30%+ recurring commissions — software, memberships, and digital tools.
Mistake #2: Promoting everything
Pick 3-5 products max. Go deep. Create real content around them. People buy from someone who clearly uses and understands the product, not someone spamming 50 different links.
Mistake #3: No audience, no trust
Cold traffic to affiliate links barely converts. Build even a small audience first — 500 engaged followers beats 50,000 randoms. Give value, build trust, then recommend products that genuinely solve problems.
The affiliates making $5K-$10K/month all do the same thing: fewer products, higher commissions, real relationships with their audience.
That's exactly what we break down inside Commission Club — curated high-commission deals, weekly, with the strategy to actually convert them.
