My puppy stopped biting in 3 days. Here's exactly what I did.

I was about to lose my mind.

New puppy. Cute face. Razor-sharp teeth on everything — my hands, my shoes, the couch, the kids.

I tried saying "no" louder. I tried the spray bottle. I tried ignoring it. Nothing worked. I started wondering if I'd made a huge mistake getting a dog.

Then I learned one simple redirect technique and everything changed in 3 days.

Here's the short version:

Every time your puppy bites, do this:

  1. Make a quick, sharp "ouch" sound (not yelling — just a yelp)

  2. Immediately turn away and freeze for 5 seconds

  3. Then offer a chew toy instead

  4. When they take the toy → praise like crazy

That's it. No punishment. No sprays. No stress.

The science behind it: Puppies learn bite pressure from their littermates. When a puppy bites too hard, the other puppy yelps and stops playing. You're speaking their language.

Within 3 days, the biting dropped by about 80%. Within a week, she was going straight for her toys instead of my hands.

This is just ONE technique from our full guide. Inside The Cozy Pup Guide, we cover:

āœ… Potty training without stress

āœ… Leash walking that actually works

āœ… Stopping barking, jumping, and chewing

āœ… Building a daily routine your pup loves

āœ… The gentle approach that builds trust (not fear)

All for less than a coffee. No shame, no jargon — just what works. 🐾

The 3 things I wish someone told me before I started training my dog

I spent months reading every dog training blog, watching every YouTube video, and scrolling every Reddit thread.

And honestly? Most of the advice made things worse.

Here are the 3 things that actually changed everything for me — and that I now tell every new dog parent:

1. Your dog isn't "being bad." They're confused.

Dogs don't understand English. They don't know what "no" means until you show them what YES looks like instead. Every time I stopped punishing the wrong behavior and started rewarding the right one, things clicked faster than I ever expected.

2. Five minutes beats one hour.

I used to try marathon training sessions and wonder why my puppy zoned out after 3 minutes. Turns out, short bursts (5 minutes, 2-3 times a day) are way more effective than one long session. Their little brains need time to process.

3. The relationship matters more than the tricks.

Sit, stay, and come are great — but the real magic happens when your dog actually trusts you. When they look at you because they want to, not because they're afraid of what happens if they don't. That bond is the foundation everything else is built on.

I ended up putting everything I learned into a guide — 80 pages of gentle, no-jargon training methods for puppies and adult dogs. No shame, no harsh corrections. Just the warm, clear roadmap I wish I'd had from day one.
