Most creators under 10k subs think their problem is content quality. It's usually not. It's distribution. Here are the 3 mistakes I see constantly:

1. Publishing and disappearing. You upload, post once to your one Twitter follower base, and wait for the algorithm to save you. It won't. The first 24-48 hours of external traffic (Reddit, Discord, niche forums, other creators' comment sections) is what signals to YouTube that a video deserves a push. If you're not manually driving that early traffic, you're relying entirely on luck.

2. Titles/thumbnails written for yourself, not for a scroller. If your title describes what the video IS instead of what the viewer GETS, you're losing the click. "My Trip to Japan" loses to "I Spent $50 for a Week in Tokyo (Here's What Broke Me)" every time — same footage, different framing.

3. Zero repurposing strategy. One long-form video should become 3-5 shorts, a thread, and a community post. Small channels treat each video as a single event instead of a content system. The channels that break through are the ones squeezing 5x the reach out of the same footage.

Fix these three things before you touch your camera settings again. Distribution isn't a dirty word — it's the actual job.
