The 3 stitches that make any project look expensive
Most crocheters learn chain, single crochet, double crochet β and then stop there. Nothing wrong with that, but if you want your pieces to look refined, there are three stitches that punch way above their weight:
1. The Linen Stitch β Alternating SC and chains creates this gorgeous woven texture. It drapes beautifully and looks like it took 10x more effort than it did. Perfect for modern scarves and market bags.
2. The Alpine Stitch β Front post double crochets worked in offset rows. The result looks like intricate cables without any of the cable complexity. Great for blankets and pillow covers.
3. The Moss Stitch β Similar to linen but with a tighter gauge. It creates a dense, structured fabric that's ideal for bags, coasters, and home dΓ©cor.
I design all my patterns around stitches like these β techniques that are totally achievable for intermediate crafters but produce pieces that look designer.
If you want to see them in action, check out my pattern bundle. Every pattern includes full stitch diagrams and step-by-step breakdowns.
