๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ What the Scam-O-Meter Can and Cannot Tell You

Let's be clear about one thing:

A risk score is not a guarantee.

The Scam-O-Meter helps you structure a token check by putting the relevant risk indicators in front of you.

It helps you ask better questions about:

๐Ÿ’ง Liquidity and trading conditions

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Holder concentration

๐Ÿ”‘ Contract permissions and possible weak spots

๐Ÿ“Š Unusual activity and other available warning signs

But blockchain data can be incomplete, delayed or misleading. Some risks simply can't be seen in the available data. And a token can change after it's been checked.

โœ… A low-risk result does not mean a token is safe.

โŒ A high-risk result does not, on its own, prove fraud.

Treat the result as one input to your decision, not the decision itself.

That's why we explain the signals, show their limits and look at the wider context.

CIN is here to improve your research, not to promise certainty in an uncertain market. ๐Ÿง

๐Ÿšฉ 5 Red Flags That Deserve a Closer Look

Not every risky project is an obvious scam. Sometimes the warning signs hide behind polished branding, loud promotion and promises of easy money.

Five reasons to slow down:

1๏ธโƒฃ Guaranteed profits ๐Ÿ’ธ

Anyone promising reliable crypto returns is asking you to ignore uncertainty.

2๏ธโƒฃ Pressure to act now โฐ

"Buy now or miss out" is not evidence.

3๏ธโƒฃ Unclear token permissions ๐Ÿ”‘

If key contract functions exist and nobody can explain them, investigate before you interact.

4๏ธโƒฃ Strange holder or trading patterns ๐Ÿ“‰

Concentrated supply, repetitive trades or sudden liquidity changes deserve scrutiny.

5๏ธโƒฃ Claims you can't verify ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ

A big partnership, a famous investor or an audit badge means little if the evidence doesn't check out.

One red flag doesn't prove a scam. Several red flags, plus missing or contradictory information, make the risk more serious.

And remember: a clean-looking dashboard can't remove every unknown.

๐ŸŽฏ The best time to investigate a token is before you're emotionally committed to buying it.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Who Holds the Supply? Follow the Concentration.

10,000 holders sounds healthy. It might not be.

The number of wallets doesn't tell you how much each wallet controls. If a handful of wallets hold a big share of the supply, their decisions can move the whole market.

Questions worth asking:

๐Ÿ”น How much of the supply sits in the largest wallets?

๐Ÿ”น Are any wallets linked to the deployer (the wallet that created the token) or the team?

๐Ÿ”น Could several wallets belong to the same person?

๐Ÿ”น Are exchange, liquidity-pool and burn addresses counted correctly?

๐Ÿ”น Have big holders recently been buying or selling?

โš ๏ธ Important: concentration is a risk signal, not proof of wrongdoing. Large wallets can belong to legitimate teams, exchanges or liquidity providers. And blockchain data doesn't always show who controls a wallet.

The point isn't to panic when you spot a big holder.

The point is to ask better questions. ๐Ÿง

That's the difference between reacting to a chart and researching a token.

๐Ÿ’ง Liquidity: The Risk Many Beginners Overlook

The price is climbing. Your chart shows a profit. You hit sell.

And then you find out that selling a meaningful amount is much harder than you expected. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

That's why liquidity matters.

Liquidity determines how easily you can buy or sell a token without moving its price too much. In a thin market, even a small trade can have a big impact.

Before you trade, ask:

๐Ÿ”น How much liquidity is available?

๐Ÿ”น Which pool holds it?

๐Ÿ”น Is it locked, and what does that lock actually protect?

๐Ÿ”น Who can remove or change it?

๐Ÿ”น How much price impact could your trade create?

๐Ÿ”น Could the liquidity change quickly?

๐Ÿ”’ One more thing: a liquidity lock is not a safety certificate. It doesn't remove contract risks, concentrated ownership or other dangers.

๐Ÿ’ก The lesson: don't just ask what a token might be worth. Ask whether you can realistically trade it, under what conditions and with what risks.

That's the kind of question CIN is built around. Not to make every token look dangerous, but to help you understand what you're dealing with before you decide.

๐Ÿ” Before You Trust a Token, Check These 5 Things

A token can have a slick website, an active social account and a chart that looks ready to take off.

None of that proves it's safe.

Slow down and investigate first:

1๏ธโƒฃ Liquidity ๐Ÿ’ง

Is there meaningful liquidity to trade against? Can someone with special permissions remove or change it?

2๏ธโƒฃ Holder concentration ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

Do a few wallets control a large share of the supply? That's not automatically a scam, but it can create serious selling risk.

3๏ธโƒฃ Contract permissions ๐Ÿ”‘

Can the owner change key settings, restrict transfers, mint more tokens or add other risks?

4๏ธโƒฃ Trading activity ๐Ÿ“Š

Does the volume look credible? Is it spread across independent traders, or driven by a handful of wallets?

5๏ธโƒฃ The people behind it ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ

Can you verify the team's claims? Do their public statements match the evidence?

โš ๏ธ The important part: no single check tells you everything. A project can pass several checks and still be risky. What you can verify also depends on the blockchain, the contract and the available data.

Use a checklist to structure your research, not to replace it.

โœ… The Scam-O-Meter Checklist walks you through these checks step by step. Tip: invite 3 friends to CIN and you get it for free.

Research first. Trust later.
