The 3-minute rule that changed how I manage my day
Most productivity advice is overcomplicated. Here's the one rule I swear by:
If a task takes less than 3 minutes, do it immediately. No list. No reminder. Just do it.
Why it works:
It eliminates 60-70% of your "to-do list anxiety" — most of those items are tiny tasks piling up
It builds momentum. Once you knock out 4-5 small things, you're in flow
It trains your brain to act instead of plan
The mistake people make: they spend 5 minutes writing down a task that would've taken 2 minutes to finish.
I built DailyFlow around this idea — give busy professionals the tools to automate the small stuff and focus on what actually moves the needle.
If you're drowning in tasks between your job and your side projects, that's exactly what we solve.
