Most long-form videos already have 10 clips in them. People just don't cut them.
If a 20-minute YouTube video has one strong story, it usually has 8โ15 moments that work as shorts.
What I look for when I clip:
The first 1.5 seconds has to make someone stop. A claim, a reaction, a question. Not a greeting.
Cut on the sentence, not the breath. Dead air kills retention.
Captions should be readable on a bus. Big, high contrast, no tiny fonts.
End on a reason to watch the next one, not a subscribe ask.
That's the whole job. Take one long video, pull the moments that already work, make them vertical.
If you have a video sitting there and you want it turned into a bundle, that's what clip Dealz is for.
