The 30-second test that tells you if sitting is already changing how you move

Here's something most desk workers don't realize: the stiffness you feel when you stand up isn't just "being tight." It's your body adapting to the position you spend the most time in.

Sit 8 hours a day, and your hip flexors shorten. Your glutes stop firing properly. Your low back takes on load it was never designed to carry alone.

The result? You stand up and feel like you need to "warm up" before you can walk normally. You bend down to pick something up and your back catches. You get in the car after work and your hips scream.

Here's the 30-second test:

Stand up from your chair right now. Without stretching first, try to take a full, comfortable step forward — like you're walking to the kitchen. Now notice:

  • Do your hips feel stuck for the first few steps?

  • Does your low back feel tight or compressed?

  • Do you instinctively lean forward or shuffle before you hit your normal stride?

If any of those hit, sitting has already changed how you move.

The fix isn't a full workout. It's not 20 minutes of yoga. It's a system of five-minute resets you can do at your chair, against a wall, or in a doorway — built to fit between meetings, before commutes, and around the errands you're already doing.

I built Desk Reset for exactly this. A 14-day structured plan that takes desk workers from stiff-after-sitting to moving comfortably through the whole day. No gym. No mat. No extra time you don't have.

If the test above got you, this was built for you.
