Why your mousepad matters more than your mouse
Most FPS players spend $150+ on a mouse but never think twice about what's under it.
Here's the thing — your surface controls your aim more than your sensor does. A worn-out pad with inconsistent friction will tank your micro-adjustments no matter how good your DPI settings are.
What actually matters in a pad:
Surface texture consistency — Every inch should feel the same. Cheap pads develop dead spots within weeks.
Thickness & density — Too thin and you feel the desk. Too thick and your wrist sinks. 3-4mm is the sweet spot.
Base grip — If your pad shifts during a flick, you're done. Non-slip rubber base is non-negotiable.
Edge stitching — Unstitched edges fray fast. Once they start curling, your glide is compromised.
I built DeskMat Co. because I got tired of replacing pads every few months. Every mat we make is engineered for competitive play — consistent glide, locked-in base, stitched edges that last.
If you're serious about your aim, your surface should match your commitment. 🎯
