If you have PCOS, “day 14” is a lie
Most ovulation apps assume a 28-day cycle. PCOS does not.
If you’ve been tracking for months and never catching a positive OPK, you are not broken. You’re using a tool built for regular cycles.
What actually works:
Basal body temperature does not predict ovulation. It confirms it after it happens. For PCOS, confirmation is the whole game. You cannot time intercourse around a prediction that never comes. You can time it around a pattern you’ve already seen once.
Cervical mucus still shows up even when LH tests stay negative. Watery or egg-white mucus is the signal to start trying — not a positive stick.
One charted cycle with a clear temperature shift is worth more than six months of guessing.
That’s the method I use: same thermometer, same time, no calendar math. The apps fail because they force a luteal-phase template onto a cycle that doesn’t have one yet.
