Why international home goods stall at UAE customs
Most people think shipping is the hard part of buying home goods into the UAE. It isn't. Customs is.
Three things that actually get a parcel held:
A vague invoice. "Home item, $20" gets opened. Write the real product name, material, and a fair value.
Mixing categories. A throw plus a candle in one box is a different conversation than a throw alone. Textiles are straightforward. Liquids and wax are not.
No tracking on the last mile. If the courier can't prove delivery, you eat the cost. Always use a tracked service that hands off to a UAE last-mile partner.
If you're buying from a store that won't put a real commercial invoice on the box, don't.
That's the whole game.
