5 things that actually make a clip go viral (from someone who's watched thousands of them)

I've been going through clips for a while now and honestly most of them make the same mistakes. If you're clipping streams — mine or anyone else's — here's what separates the clips that hit 500K views from the ones that die at 200.

1. The first 2 seconds decide everything

Nobody scrolls past a boring opener. Cut straight into the reaction, the punchline, or the moment things go wrong. Kill all the "so basically what happened was..." setup — just show it.

2. Captions are not optional

Most people are watching muted on the train, at work, in bed at 2am. If your clip depends on audio to land, you've already lost half your potential views. Burn in captions every time.

3. Length: shorter than you think

15-40 seconds is usually the sweet spot. If you're stretching a clip to hit a minute, you're probably including dead air that should've been cut.

4. One clip, one moment

Don't try to tell a whole story. Pick the single funniest/craziest/most insane 10 seconds and build the clip around just that. Multi-moment clips almost always underperform single-moment ones.

5. Post volume beats perfection

The algorithm doesn't know your clip is good until it tests it with a small audience. You can't predict which clip pops — so more shots on goal wins. Clippers who post 5-10 clips a week outperform the ones agonizing over 1 "perfect" clip.

If you're clipping my streams for the reward program — remember it's paid out at $0.50 per 1,000 views, straight to your Whop balance, no payout minimums to wait around for. Submit through the Content Rewards tab.
