The 5 Streetwear Rules Nobody Talks About
Most people think streetwear is about logos and hype. It's not. It's about silhouette, proportion, and intention.
Here's what I've learned building DRIFT & CO.:
1. Oversized ≠ sloppy. The best oversized fits are intentional. The shoulder drop, the crop length, the way it drapes — every detail matters. If it looks like you grabbed your dad's shirt, you missed.
2. Neutrals are your foundation. Before you go neon, master cream, charcoal, sage, and slate. These are the colors that make everything in your closet work together.
3. One statement piece per fit. If your hoodie is loud, your pants should be quiet. If your shoes are wild, keep everything else minimal. Balance is everything.
4. Fabric > brand. A $40 heavyweight cotton tee that drapes right will always beat a $200 designer piece made of thin polyester. Touch the fabric before you buy.
5. Fit for YOUR body, not the model's. Streetwear should make you feel like yourself, not a mannequin. Try things on. Roll the sleeves. Cuff the pants. Make it yours.
This is the philosophy behind DRIFT & CO. — pieces designed to actually look good on real people, not just on a product page.
