The goal is simple: stop memorizing solutions and start actually understanding the patterns behind them. If you can explain why an approach works, you'll crush any variation they throw at you.

Most people approach LeetCode wrong. They grind 500 problems and still freeze in interviews.

Here's the thing — there are really only about 5 core patterns you need to internalize. Once you see them, problems stop feeling random:

1. Sliding Window — Any time you're looking at contiguous subarrays or substrings. The key insight is maintaining a window state as you expand/contract.

2. Two Pointers — Sorted arrays, palindromes, pair sums. One pointer from each end, or one fast + one slow.

3. BFS/DFS on graphs & trees — Most tree problems are just "pick BFS or DFS." Graphs are the same thing with a visited set.

4. Dynamic Programming (Bottom-Up) — If a problem has overlapping subproblems, build your solution from the smallest case up. Start with the recurrence, then tabulate.

5. Binary Search (on answer space) — Not just "find element in sorted array." The real power is binary searching on the answer itself when you can define a monotonic condition.

Master these five and you'll recognize the approach for most medium/hard problems within 30 seconds.
