5 Things Every Football Player Should Be Doing This Offseason

Most players waste their offseason. They train hard but they train wrong. Here's what actually moves the needle:

1. Film study — 15 minutes a day, minimum.

You don't need to watch for hours. Pick one play from your last game. Watch it 10 times. What did you see pre-snap? What did you miss? Where were your eyes? This alone will put you ahead of 90% of players at your level.

2. Sprint mechanics before speed work.

Everyone wants to "get faster" but most athletes have terrible sprint form. Fix your arm drive, your hip position, and your ground contact before you ever worry about 40 times. Speed is a skill.

3. Position-specific footwork every single day.

DBs — work your backpedal-to-break. OL — mirror drills. WRs — release packages. 10 minutes of intentional footwork daily beats a 2-hour "workout" of random drills once a week.

4. Train your mind like you train your body.

Visualization isn't soft — it's a weapon. Before bed, run through 5 plays in your head. See the snap, feel your feet, make the play. The best athletes in every sport do this. You should too.

5. Get around other players who are locked in.

Your circle determines your ceiling. If you're the hardest worker in the room, you need a new room.

That's what we built The Academy for. A place where serious football players train together — position work, mental game, film study, speed & agility. All in one spot.
