Welcome to EVCore Academy 👋

Welcome, and congrats on taking the first step into the world of EV engineering.

Here's what you have access to:

📚 EV Engineering Course — Structured modules covering battery systems, motor control, power electronics, inverters, and charging infrastructure. Work through them at your own pace.

💬 Community Chat — Ask questions, share builds, and connect with other engineers and enthusiasts. Don't be shy — the best learning happens in the conversation.

📢 Updates & Resources — This is where I post new lessons, breakdowns, industry news, and study materials. Keep notifications on.

A few tips to get started:

  1. Head to the Course tab and start with Module 1 (EV Fundamentals)

  2. Introduce yourself in the Community Chat

  3. Bookmark this post

If you have any questions, drop them in chat. Let's build.

Why most people misunderstand EV engineering (and what actually matters)

Everyone talks about EVs, but most of the conversation stays at the surface level.

Range anxiety. Charging speed. 0-60 times.

What almost nobody talks about is what's actually happening under the hood — and understanding it changes how you see the whole industry.

The battery isn't just a big AA battery.

Modern EV battery packs are thermal management systems, BMS-controlled cell arrays, and structural components all at once. The difference between a 300-mile range and a 250-mile range isn't just chemistry — it's packaging, cooling, and cell balancing algorithms.

Motor control is where the magic is.

A permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with a well-tuned inverter can achieve 95%+ efficiency. The software that controls torque vectoring in real time is more sophisticated than most people realize.

The charging bottleneck isn't where you think.

It's not the charger. It's the thermal headroom of the pack during rapid charge cycles. That's why pre-conditioning matters and why some cars charge faster in certain temperatures.

If you're curious about EVs beyond the specs — battery systems, power electronics, motor control, charging infrastructure — I teach all of it at EVCore Academy. New to Whop, and taking members now.
