Why I stopped trusting sleep trackers and started paying attention to what's UNDER me

Spent two years optimizing my sleep with every tracker, blackout curtain, and magnesium supplement on the market. Data said I was "sleeping fine." I still woke up wired and inflamed most mornings.

The thing nobody talks about: humans evolved sleeping on the ground, physically connected to the earth's electric charge. Modern life — rubber-soled shoes, elevated beds, insulated everything — cuts that connection off completely. Some researchers call it "electron deficiency." Sounds fringe, but the mechanism is simple: the earth carries a mild negative charge, and skin contact with it appears to help neutralize free radicals and calm the nervous system.

I started sleeping on a grounded (earthing) sheet — basically a normal cotton sheet woven with conductive silver thread, plugged into the ground pin of a wall outlet. Not a gadget, not a subscription, just a sheet. Within about a week my resting heart rate at night dropped and I stopped waking up at 3am wired.

I'm not saying it's magic. But if you've maxed out the obvious sleep hygiene stuff (screens, caffeine timing, room temp) and you're still not recovering well, this is the cheapest, lowest-effort variable left to test. Worth a look before you buy another supplement stack.

Happy to answer questions on setup — it's genuinely a 5 minute install.
