How often should you actually mow your lawn? (and other property care basics)
A question we get constantly: "how often does my lawn actually need to be mowed?"
Rule of thumb: never cut more than 1/3 of the grass blade height in a single mow. In peak growing season (spring/early summer) that usually means weekly. In hotter, drier stretches of summer, stretching to 10-14 days actually keeps your lawn healthier — cutting too often under heat stress weakens the root system.
For housekeeping, a biweekly deep clean is the sweet spot for most single-family homes — it keeps buildup from ever accumulating without paying for a full weekly service you don't need.
For commercial properties and multi-unit buildings, frequency should scale with foot traffic — high-traffic entryways and common areas often need daily light upkeep even if grounds are only serviced weekly.
