The 5 things a hot water piping package must include before fabrication starts
Most delays on hot water piping jobs are not welding problems. They are missing information.
If a fabricator or HVAC contractor starts cutting pipe from a sketch, they usually hit one of these later:
No materials specification — so fittings, insulation, and valve ratings get guessed on site.
No BOM — so procurement waits until drawings are already in the workshop.
No pump and equipment list — so nozzles, flanges, and supports do not match the actual units.
Assembly drawings without part drawings — so the shop cannot nest or fabricate individual pieces.
No pressure, temperature, or flow basis — so the line sizes look fine on paper and fail in service.
A complete package before fabrication should include layout and assembly drawings, part drawings, materials specifications, a BOM, and a pump & equipment list. That is the work we do for plants, fabrication shops, and contractors.
