Everyone asks what camera I use. Wrong question.

I shot some of my best work on a phone. The difference isn't the gear — it's the eye. Here's what actually changed my footage:

1. Shoot for the edit, not the moment.

Before I press record, I already know the cut. I see the transition, the rhythm, the beat drop. If you're just "capturing moments," you're making home videos.

2. Color tells the story before sound does.

Desaturate. Push the shadows cool, let the highlights bleed warm. That faded look isn't a filter — it's a mood. It tells your viewer how to feel before they even hear a word.

3. Negative space is your best frame.

Stop filling every shot. The emptiness around your subject IS the composition. A lone figure in a wide frame hits harder than a perfect close-up every time.

These three shifts took my reels from "nice shots" to "who made this?"
