I've edited over a thousand wedding photos, and I keep seeing the same three mistakes — whether it's my own early work or photos other photographers ask me to look at.

1. Over-saturating greens in outdoor shots.

That lush garden venue looks gorgeous in person, but cranking the greens makes everything look radioactive. Pull greens toward teal/sage and desaturate slightly. Your couples will thank you.

2. Crushing the blacks to look "moody."

There's a difference between intentional matte tones and losing all shadow detail. If you can't see the groom's suit texture, you've gone too far. Lift those blacks gently instead.

3. Ignoring skin tones while colour grading.

Your orange teal look doesn't matter if the bride looks sunburnt. Always HSL-adjust oranges separately and check skin on different monitors.
