The 3 mistakes that drain beginner sports bettors
I keep seeing the same three leaks from people who just started betting. None of them are about "not being sharp." They're about how you bet.
1. You size every bet the same — or worse, you size by how confident you feel.
If a $50 bet on a -110 favorite feels small, a $50 bet on a +240 longshot is not the same bet. Pick a unit (1% of the money you can lose) and stick to it. Confidence is not a bankroll strategy.
2. You parlay because the payout looks bigger.
A 3-leg parlay of decent sides is not "smarter." It's three chances to be right instead of one. If you wouldn't bet the third leg by itself, don't staple it on for the number.
3. You chase last night.
You lost. You double. You lose again. That's not a system — that's how a $200 night becomes a $800 week. The next pick does not owe you yesterday.
If you want a card you can actually follow — one pick, one unit, a reason written in English — that's what I post every day inside First Ticket.
