The 3 mistakes every beginner makes in the gym
I've been training for years, and I see the same patterns with beginners over and over.
Mistake #1: Starting with a bodybuilder split
You don't need a chest day, back day, arms day when you're starting. Your body responds to everything right now. A simple full-body routine 3x a week will give you better results in less time.
Mistake #2: Ignoring nutrition completely
You don't need to meal prep 7 days of chicken and rice. But you do need to eat enough protein — roughly 0.7g per pound of bodyweight. That one change alone will transform your results.
Mistake #3: Going too hard, too fast
The gym isn't a punishment. If you destroy yourself in week 1, you won't come back in week 2. Start lighter than you think. Add weight slowly. Consistency beats intensity every single time.
The Beginner's Fitness Blueprint covers all of this in detail — the exact routines, nutrition basics, and how to build a habit that sticks.
