The 3 mistakes every beginner makes in the gym
Been training for years and I see the same 3 mistakes over and over with beginners. Fix these and you'll progress faster than 90% of people at your gym.
1. Program hopping every 2 weeks
You saw a new routine on TikTok so you switched. Again. Any decent program works if you stick with it for 8-12 weeks. Progressive overload beats novelty every time. Pick one and run it.
2. Ignoring nutrition
You can't out-train a bad diet. You don't need to count every macro — just hit enough protein (0.7-1g per lb bodyweight) and be in a slight deficit if you're cutting. No magic foods, no detox teas.
3. Going too heavy too fast
Your ego is your worst enemy. Drop the weight, nail the form, build up slowly. Controlled reps at moderate weight build more muscle than swinging heavy dumbbells around.
Fix these three and you'll see more progress in 3 months than most see in a year.
I built FitByS around these exact principles — beginner-friendly programs, meal plans, and a community that actually helps. Check it out if you want the full system.
