The 5-piece capsule that makes you look expensive on a $150 budget
Most women think you need a full closet makeover to look put-together. You don't. You need 5 intentional pieces.
Here's the capsule I recommend to anyone starting from scratch:
1. A structured blazer (thrifted, $25-40) — Black or navy. Instantly makes any outfit look intentional. Zara and H&M blazers show up at every thrift store.
2. Straight-leg trousers ($20-30) — Not skinny jeans. Clean, mid-rise, neutral color. These are the backbone of your rotation.
3. A white button-down ($15-25) — Slightly oversized fits better than tight. Tuck it in, leave it open over a tank, or knot it — three outfits from one piece.
4. Pointed-toe flats or low block heels ($20-35) — Skip the stilettos. You need something you can actually walk in that still looks polished.
5. A minimal crossbody bag ($15-25) — Black or tan leather (or vegan leather). No logos, no hardware overload. Clean lines only.
Total: $95-$155. You now have 10+ outfit combinations that look like you shop at Sézane.
The secret isn't spending more — it's knowing what actually works together.
I teach this inside Fitted. We break down wardrobes, share budget finds, and build looks that make you feel like that person at work. $19/month.
