The 30-Minute Rule That Changed How I Train
Most people think they need 60-90 minutes in the gym to make real progress. They're wrong.
Here's what I learned after years of training busy professionals:
The problem isn't time — it's wasted time. Most gym-goers spend 40% of their session scrolling between sets, doing junk volume, or running programs designed for people who train 6 days a week.
The 30-Minute Rule: If you can't get a meaningful training stimulus in 30 minutes, your programming sucks.
Here's a sample session I'd give a client with zero free time:
A1: Goblet Squat — 3x10 (rest 45s)
A2: Push-ups — 3x12 (rest 45s)
B1: Romanian Deadlift — 3x8 (rest 60s)
B2: Band Pull-Aparts — 3x15 (rest 30s)
Finisher: 5 min EMOM — 10 KB swings
That's a full-body session. Done in under 30 minutes. 3x a week = real results in 12 weeks.
The key is supersets, compound movements, and zero fluff. Every rep counts when you don't have time to waste.
I share programs like this every week inside FitVault — built specifically for people who are too busy to be in the gym for hours but still want to look and feel great.
