5 things you're doing right now that are slowing down your computer

Most people don't realize their daily habits are killing their PC performance. Here are the biggest offenders I fix every single week:

1. Too many browser tabs open

Each Chrome tab is basically a mini-program. 30 tabs = your RAM is gone. Use bookmarks. Close what you're not using.

2. Never restarting your computer

"Sleep mode" is not the same as a restart. Your system needs a fresh boot at least once a week to clear memory leaks and apply updates.

3. Ignoring Windows/Mac updates

Yes, they're annoying. But skipping them means you're running on outdated, slower, less secure software.

4. Running antivirus software from 2018

If your antivirus is expired or you're running two at once, it's doing more harm than good. Windows Defender alone is solid for most people in 2026.

5. A cluttered desktop

Every icon on your desktop loads into memory at startup. Move files into folders. Your boot time will thank you.

If your machine is still crawling after fixing all of this, it might be something deeper — bad drive, failing hardware, or bloatware. That's what I'm here for.
