The 5 decisions that actually start a beauty brand
Everyone wants a beauty brand. Almost nobody starts.
They get stuck collecting logos, mood boards, and 40 unused TikToks about “finding your niche.” None of that ships a product.
These five decisions do:
One product. Lip gloss or a face oil or a hair mist. Not a full line. One SKU you can sample, price, and sell.
One customer. Not “women who love beauty.” A specific person: the 24-year-old who wants a clean lip gloss that does not melt in her bag.
A real supplier, not a Pinterest board. MOQ, sample cost, lead time. If you cannot write those three numbers down, you do not have a supplier yet.
A price that covers cost. Product + packaging + shipping + a margin you can live on. If the math only works at 10,000 units, it does not work.
A launch date. Pick a week. Make 7 pieces of content. Tell people where to buy.
That is the whole job at the start. Branding comes after you can describe the product in one sentence.
If you are sitting on an idea and do not know which of these five to do first — it is always number 1.
