3 Things I Wish I Knew Before My First Forex Trade

Most beginners blow their first account within 90 days. I almost did too. Here's what would have saved me thousands:

1. Risk management > strategy

Everyone obsesses over finding the "perfect" entry. But the traders who last 5+ years? They obsess over position sizing. Never risk more than 1-2% per trade. Period. A mediocre strategy with great risk management will outperform a great strategy with no risk management every single time.

2. The daily chart is your best friend

Lower timeframes are noise machines for beginners. Start with daily charts. You'll make fewer trades, but each one will be higher quality. Speed doesn't equal profit — patience does.

3. Your journal is more valuable than any indicator

Screenshot every trade. Write down why you entered, what you felt, and what happened. After 50 trades, patterns will jump off the page. Your own data > anyone else's signals.

I built Achtem to teach beginners these fundamentals before they learn them the expensive way. If you're just starting out, come learn with us.
