The study method nobody teaches you in high school
Most students study by re-reading notes and highlighting. It feels productive but barely works — you're recognizing information, not recalling it.
Here's the shift that actually moves grades: active recall + spaced repetition.
After class, close your notes and write down everything you remember from memory (not looking). This is way harder than re-reading — that's the point.
Check what you missed and only re-study those gaps.
Quiz yourself again 1 day later, then 3 days later, then a week later. Each time you struggle to recall something and then get it right, it sticks longer.
Tools like Anki or even just a stack of index cards work. The method matters more than the app.
If you're prepping for APs, SATs, or finals — this alone will save you hours of "studying" that wasn't actually working. I write about systems like this every week over at Ramz if you want more of this kind of stuff.
