The 3 mistakes every beginner lifter makes (and how to fix them)

I've coached hundreds of beginners. Almost all of them make the same 3 mistakes in their first 6 months.

1. Program hopping

You see a new routine on social media every week and switch to it. The result? Zero progress. Pick ONE program and run it for at least 12 weeks. Progressive overload only works if you're consistent enough to actually progress.

2. Ignoring nutrition

You can't out-train a bad diet. If you're trying to build muscle and you're eating 1,800 calories, you're going nowhere. A simple starting point: 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, and eat in a slight surplus (200-300 calories above maintenance).

3. Ego lifting

Nobody in the gym cares how much you bench. Drop the weight, nail your form, and build a real foundation. You'll progress faster AND avoid injuries that could set you back months.

The beginners who actually make it are the ones who stay boring — same program, consistent nutrition, good form. That's it.

If you want a structured system that handles all of this for you, ForgeFit has you covered.
