The crosshair placement hack that'll get you out of Gold

I've coached a ton of FPS players and the #1 thing holding Gold/Plat players back isn't their aim — it's where their crosshair sits before the fight even starts.

Here's the thing most players get wrong: they think they need faster reaction time or better flick aim. They don't. They need to stop aiming at the ground.

The fix is dead simple:

Your crosshair should always be at head level, pre-aimed at the edge of the angle you're about to peek or hold. Not at the wall. Not at the ground. At the exact pixel where an enemy head would appear.

When you do this right, gunfights stop being about reaction time. They become micro-adjustments. You're not flicking 90 degrees — you're nudging 5 pixels.

Try this in your next deathmatch:

  1. Don't focus on kills at all

  2. Focus ONLY on keeping your crosshair at head level while you move

  3. Pre-aim every corner before you clear it

  4. Do this for 15 minutes straight

I guarantee you'll notice the difference in your next ranked game. The kills just... happen. Because your crosshair was already there.
