1. No pre-release runway

You need at minimum 4 weeks between submission and release. The sweet spot is 6-8 weeks. This gives you time to pitch, build pre-saves, and create content around the release.

2. Generic pitch descriptions

"This is a fingerstyle guitar piece" tells the editorial team nothing. You need to describe the mood, the influences, the story, and why it fits a specific playlist.

3. Ignoring metadata

Genre tags, mood descriptors, and instrumental flags directly affect how Spotify's algorithm categorizes your music. Get these wrong and you're invisible.
