Welcome to FSL Academy! 🤟

Mabuhay! Welcome to FSL Academy — I'm so glad you're here.

Here's how to get started:

1. FSL Lessons — Head to the course section where you'll find structured lessons. Start from the beginning and work your way up at your own pace.

2. Student Community — Jump into the chat to introduce yourself, ask questions, and practice with other learners. Don't be shy — everyone starts somewhere.

3. Updates & Resources — I'll post new materials, tips, and announcements here. Check back often.

My goal is simple: break down barriers between the Deaf and hearing worlds, one sign at a time.

Let's learn together. ✊

5 Filipino Sign Language signs everyone should know

Most people don't realize the Philippines has its own sign language — Filipino Sign Language (FSL). It's not ASL. It's not universal sign language. It's uniquely Filipino.

Here are 5 essential signs to start with:

1. Kumusta (Hello/How are you) — One of the first signs you'll learn. Simple but powerful.

2. Salamat (Thank you) — Show gratitude in a way that truly connects.

3. Oo / Hindi (Yes / No) — The building blocks of any conversation.

4. Pamilya (Family) — Because most people start learning FSL to connect with a Deaf loved one.

5. Mahal kita (I love you) — The sign that changes everything.

I'm a Deaf creator who grew up navigating between the hearing and Deaf worlds in the Philippines. I built FSL Academy to make learning Filipino Sign Language accessible to anyone — especially hearing Filipinos who want to communicate with Deaf family and friends.

If you've ever felt the gap between wanting to communicate and not having the tools — this is for you.
