Most gamers are leaving 20-40% of their FPS on the table without knowing it. Here are 5 settings you should change today:

1. Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling — Turn this ON in Display Settings > Graphics. Free performance on any modern GPU.

2. Game Mode — Despite the name, Windows Game Mode can cause micro-stutters. Test with it OFF and compare.

3. Power Plan — "Balanced" throttles your CPU. Switch to High Performance or Ultimate Performance (run powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61 in admin CMD to unlock it).

4. NVIDIA Control Panel — Low Latency Mode — Set to "Ultra" for competitive shooters. Cuts input lag by 1-2 frames.

5. Startup programs — Hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc, go to Startup tab, disable everything that isn't essential. Background apps eat RAM and CPU cycles your games need.
