I've been studying the car market for years, and there's a pattern: certain cars hit a depreciation floor, then start climbing — hard. If you know what to look for, you can buy low and hold for serious appreciation.

Here are 5 cars under $30K right now that I believe will double in value within 5 years:

1. E46 BMW M3 (2001-2006) — The last naturally aspirated M3. Manual coupes in clean condition are still findable under $30K, but they're climbing fast. The S54 engine is legendary.

2. Lexus IS300 with the 2JZ — Under $15K for a clean one. The JDM tax is coming hard.

3. 997.1 Porsche Cayman S — Mid-engine, flat-six, manual. The sweet spot of Porsche ownership. Still under $30K for good examples.

4. Honda S2000 (AP1) — Already climbing, but clean AP1s under $30K still exist. The analog sports car Honda will never make again.
