3 Training Mistakes Keeping You Skinny (and What to Do Instead)
I spent my first 2 years in the gym making every mistake possible. Skinny kid doing random exercises, eating whatever, wondering why nothing changed.
Here's what I wish someone told me:
1. You're not training hard enough (but not the way you think)
It's not about going to failure every set. It's about progressive overload — adding weight, reps, or sets EVERY week. If your logbook looks the same as last month, you're not growing. Track everything.
2. You're eating like a bird and calling it "clean eating"
Chicken and rice twice a day isn't a bulk. You need to actually calculate your calories and hit them consistently. Most skinny guys are eating 1,500 calories thinking it's 3,000.
3. You're program hopping every 3 weeks
Pick a program. Run it for 12 weeks minimum. The best program is the one you stick to. Consistency beats optimization every single time.
I broke down my entire training and nutrition system inside The GardzLiftz Blueprint — the exact framework that took me from skinny to here. No fluff, just what works.
