Why most small businesses overpay for social media help (and how to fix it)

Ran the numbers on this recently: a full-time social media manager costs a small business $3,000–$5,000/month in salary alone. Most local businesses and solopreneurs don't have that kind of budget, so they either do it themselves badly, or skip social entirely.

The fix isn't hiring in-house — it's hiring the right sized gig. A single freelancer doing content + posting for a local business usually runs $200–$600/month, and can do a genuinely better job than an overworked owner squeezing it in between everything else.

The hard part has always been matching: good freelancers are hard to find, and freelancers struggle to find consistent small-business clients (vs. one-off Fiverr gigs that don't repeat).

That's the gap I built GigSocial to close — a place where freelancers list their social media services (content, growth, posting, management) and small business owners can find reliable, affordably-priced help without a hiring process. If you're a freelancer doing this work, or a business owner tired of DIY social, worth a look.
