The turnover cleaning checklist most landlords miss
I've cleaned hundreds of rental units between tenants. Here's the stuff that gets missed 90% of the time — and costs landlords their security deposit disputes:
Inside the unit:
Baseboards and door frames (tenants never touch these)
Inside the oven, behind the fridge, under the stove burners
Light switch plates — they yellow over time and look grimy
Blinds. Every. Single. Slat.
Cabinet interiors, especially under the kitchen sink
Outside the unit:
Hallway leading to the door
Mailbox area
Garage or storage closet floors
The one most people forget:
The HVAC vents. Dusty vents make the whole place smell stale the second a prospective tenant walks in. Takes 5 minutes to wipe down and completely changes the first impression.
If you're a property manager doing 10+ turnovers a month, this stuff adds up fast. That's exactly what we handle at GlowUp Cleaning Co. — recurring maintenance and turnover cleans for landlords and PMs who don't want to think about it.
