I tracked my screen time for 30 days. Here's what I learned.
Week 1: 7 hours 42 minutes daily average. I knew it was bad, but seeing the number hit different.
Week 2: I started leaving my phone in another room during meals. Dropped to 5 hours 30 minutes. Conversations with my family got noticeably better.
Week 3: Deleted Instagram and TikTok. 3 hours 15 minutes. Started reading actual books again for the first time in years.
Week 4: 2 hours 10 minutes. I went on three walks without my phone. Noticed things in my neighborhood I'd never seen before. A mural. A bakery. A park bench with the best sunset view.
The thing nobody tells you about phone addiction is that it doesn't feel like addiction. It feels like boredom. But the boredom is manufactured — your brain forgot how to be still.
That's why I built Go Touch Grass. Not an app that tracks your screen time (ironic, right?). A physical device that makes putting your phone down feel like a reward, not a punishment.
If you've ever looked up from your phone and realized you lost an hour to nothing — you get it.
